About Michelle
Michelle Parker is an Associate Clinical Social Worker under the supervision of Leah Niehaus, LCSW. Michelle views therapy as a space of safety and connection. Her style is warm, interactive, strength-based, and collaborative. She believes in providing a non-judgmental and supportive space where you can explore your emotions and your identity. In working with Michelle, you can expect the therapeutic relationship to be rooted in authenticity, respect, and a sense of humor.
Michelle received her Master’s degree from Cal State University, Northridge.
During her time in graduate school, Michelle gained experience providing counseling services for children with emotional and behavioral difficulties and their families at Providence St. John’s Child and Family Development Center. She also spent time providing direct support to college students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Before beginning her journey as a therapist and social worker, she received both a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Communication from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She then spent a few years working in advertising in Los Angeles before taking the leap to follow her heart in the mental health field.
Outside of the therapy room, you can find her taking walks by the beach, dancing at music festivals, or trying out new baking recipes.

Insurance:
Michelle is not on any Insurance panels but can provide you with a "Superbill" each month that can be submitted to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Note that you will be given a Good Faith Estimate at the start of work together so that you would know the possible costs involved.
Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
Do I have mental health benefits?
How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
Does my plan cover services for a provider who is unlicensed and under supervision?
If so, how do I submit a Superbill?

Individual/Couple/Family Therapy $170
Cancellation Policy:
If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the treatment as booked.
