About Rebecca
Rebecca Riordan is an APCC, supervised by Leah Niehaus. She is here to help you more fully understand yourself and your experiences so that you may recognize your strengths and feel empowered to make decisions that move you in the direction of the life you want to lead. She believes that nurturing a sense of self-compassion, agency, and hope is often at the heart of this process. Through a warm, approachable combination of internal exploration and practical skill-building, she takes a person-centered approach to therapy, grounded in your own unique context, needs, and identities.
Rebecca comes to the profession following a decade plus in the nonprofit and philanthropic fields where she worked to promote equity within the United States and globally. She holds an M.A. in Counseling from New York University and an M.A. in Teaching from American University. Rebecca has a B.A. in Anthropology from Yale University, where she rowed for the championship-winning, NCAA Division I Women’s Crew team.
On the weekends, you might find Rebecca and her husband chasing their three small (and very fast) children around the beach cities. She also loves writing, learning new sports, and carrying on the Mexican culinary traditions of her family.
