Emotional Sturdiness

🌟Weekly Inspiration🌟

Everywhere I turn, I seem to be hearing “strong over skinny”—probably because my feed seems to know that I am 49 and in peri-menopause 😂. It actually got me thinking though…about the parallels between the physical and emotional parts of ourselves. Sturdy and strong--physically and emotionally--is what we should all be going for. It seems to be required to get through a full life—with love, loss, joy, and sorrow ❤️.

An emotionally sturdy child is solid in their foundation, trusts themself, is confident most of the time, is resilient, and weathers emotional storms fairly well. They feel all the big feelings, but bounce back and know that they’ll get through challenging times.

Ask Yourself:

How do I believe one becomes emotionally sturdy?
What has made me emotionally sturdy? If I don’t feel sturdy, why not?
When I am physically strong does it make me feel more emotionally resilient? Are they related?
What makes my children feel sturdy?
Can I remind my children of their sturdiness with stories of their perseverance?
