Opportunities Abound

🌟Weekly Inspiration🌟

I’ve been considering this holy season of Passover and Easter…and the beautiful Spring blossoming around us after a year filled with rain. This is the season of renewal and hope. How can we keep this in perspective in our family life—especially when our kids tend to be stressed by APs, college admittances, and rejections, might be annoyed by their friends and teachers, and most might be feeling some school/sports fatigue as the summer appears on the horizon? In mental health, Spring tends to be our most busy and fretful time of the year…I, for one, would like this spring to feel different: more intentional, more hopeful, and more connected. Less fear, less stress, and less overwhelm ⭐. We can probably all agree that a family rhythm with more enjoyment, pleasure, joy, rest, fun, and connection sounds better than how some weeks feel if we don’t actively work towards this intention.

Ask Yourself:

What is our typical Spring rhythm? Do I feel like it’s a season of hope and renewal? Or do I feel exhausted, worn down, and irritable?
How can my own mental health match what is happening in nature currently?
What intentions could I set with my family for this springtime? How can we approach the end of school differently this year?
Does getting outdoors settle my nerves? What could I incorporate with these longer days?
What can I model for my children in this way? What helps soothe each of my children? Can I give them a gentle reminder about who they are and what I’ve observed helps them to de-stress?
Any small shifts I can make?

Good luck!
