For Those with Graduates ❤️
🌟Weekly Inspiration🌟
Beautiful Darling,
You are the sweetest gift and I adore you. You are a bright young thing and the whole world is in front of you. Take things as they come and you will weather well. Go everywhere. Be brave and strong and free. Keep your eyes and ears and heart wide open. Look for the goodness all around you. And when you feel small in the great big world, be still. Think of your beautiful roots. They are deep and true and will allow you to stretch far. So go into the world and let your little light shine. And always remember you are loved and blessed and the littlest one that ever stole my heart. Yours always. (Author unknown).
Our eldest is graduating high school this week—and my heart is rejoicing and deeply grieving. I take comfort in this sweet poem, that is framed in our home. I love how it encourages big adventures and an open heart. I love how it acknowledges that there will be moments when one feels small in the world or lost, but conjures the imagery of their deep roots and how those roots will get them through. I love how it encourages allowing their light to shine…and highlights how much they are loved by us, their parents.
Ask Yourself:
If I have a graduate this season, how am I doing emotionally? How can I take care of myself and allow my kid to celebrate and launch without worrying about me?
Do I feel like I have helped them to grow deep roots?
Do I encourage their little light to shine?
Do I motivate them to have a sense of adventure and an open heart? Am I optimistic about their future?
Am I in touch with the blessing that my children are in my life, even on a challenging day?
If I have younger children, is there anything this makes me want to incorporate into my parenting?
Be well ⭐
