Stillness as an Opportunity

🌟Weekly Inspiration🌟

Happy New Year! Hope that you had a wonderful holiday ❤️.

We live in such a fast-paced world.

I’m wondering how to create more calm and stillness in 2025 for myself, my family, and many of our clients. I’m struck at times by how much we humans resist stillness or feel discomfort when it is upon us. Why is that? Why do people fill every moment with distraction, scrolling, or doing? What bubbles up for us when we slow down, attend to ourselves or loved ones, feel bored, or let go of the chase towards constant productivity? It truly all is a race to nowhere!

Stillness, though, may lead us to a thought or intuition that is new, uncomfortable, or life-changing. It is an opportunity to be intimate with ourselves. The longest and most important relationship that we will have in our lives is actually with ourselves. It might be worth some effort to slow down and tune into our true needs, desires, dreams, and purpose. It’s a New Year…maybe it’s time to double down on yourself. One path to that might be more stillness.

Ask yourself:

How does my pace affect my own nervous system? Is it sustainable?
How does my pace affect my family?
Do I resist stillness? Why?
What was my family-of-origin’s messaging around stillness?
Am I missing the little, sweet, ordinary moments in pursuit of something that is not worth pursuing or even possible to attain?
What will I regret at the end of my life?
What small shift could I make going into 2025?

Be well!
